The long-term development of young athletes is an incredibly important stage. Providing the physical abilities for a child to maximize athletic capability as an adult is the overall goal, but it is vitally important that coaches do not fall into the trap of training young athletes as ‘miniature adults.’
Young athletes mature at very different rates. Just because two children are the same age it does not mean they should be trained in the same way. At FP we follow a model of development which takes into account maturation and offers ‘windows of opportunity’ to improve in areas such as fundamental movement skills, mobility, speed, strength, power and endurance.
We also believe that all Athlete Development sessions should be safe, effective and FUN!
